Nach der Pressekonferenz von Roy von vorgestern kann wohl gesagt werden, dass es schon lange nicht mehr so einen Buzz rund um das Team gegeben hat. Momentan kann man wirklich von einer Aufbruchstimmung sprechen, die viele Good-Vibes generiert.

Witzig war, als Roy von Geno Reda nach Greg Shermans Rolle gefragt wurde und Roy versuchte, sich irgend eine schlaue Antwort auf die Frage zu überlegen ohne zu sagen, dass Sherman eigentlich nichts mehr zu melden hat:

Ansonsten gibt es wie @Jukka gemeldet hat schon einen heissen Kandidaten für den einen Platz des Assistant Coaches.
Roy selbst hat zudem auch bestätigt, dass es einen Goalie-Coach geben wird. Zum Pensum ist nichts bekannt. Spekuliert wird, dass es Francois Allaire sein wird, welcher schon der Mentor von Roy und Giguere war:

Was mögliche Trades bzw. den Draft anbelangt: Ich denke nach wie vor, dass die Avs nur MacKinnon ziehen werden, wenn sie einen Center abgeben können. O'Reilly ist bis zum 28. Februar untradeable und hat mittlerweile bewiesen, dass er mehr als nur ein 3rd Line Center sein kann. Duchene ist wieder on-track. Auf dem Flügel kann er nicht spielen, das Projekt ist schon gescheitert. Bliebe noch Stastny. Ihn halte ich am ehesten für einen Trade-Kandidaten. Allerdings fällt auf, dass er seit Sakic und Roy an Bord sind ebenfalls immer präsent ist, wenn es irgendwas zur Presse zu sagen gibt. Das lässt mich zweifeln, ob er wirklich auf dem Trade-Block ist.
Mit MacKinnon käme also Center Nr. 4, welcher in den Top-6 spielen sollte. Man müsste sich schon sehr sicher sein, dass er auch auf dem Flügel dominant sein kann.


Nachdem in der Vergangenheit die abgewanderten Anderson, Quincey und O'Byrne die Avs ge-trashed hatten, meldet sich nun sogar ein Spieler aus dem aktuellen Team zum Style von Sacco (und Sherman). He had no respect for the players and this was most associated with Milan. I give you an example: We are experienced and able to cope with the fact that we are not in line up. But for Milan to arrive two hours before the game at the stadium and only then to discover he is not playing, it's just silly. Mostly it is done differently: the player will know in the morning in order to arrive at the match, not that he is there for two hours waiting for a start, sitting in the stands and drinking coffee. This is twice as true when it comes to club legend.

On management:
Of course some members (of management) and even Joe Sakic did not agree with it but on the other hand there were several people who stood behind the coach. It was divided into groups.

On coaching change:
Basically I think it was a relief for everyone on the team because it was not working. I do not think I'd find anyone who would not agree with this change. Including me, although I did not have personal problems with the coach.

On Sacco’s system and use of players:
We had poor results also due to inappropriately chosen system. I do not want to say he was a bad coach but Sacco did not take into account the types of players he has. Did not adapt style to them but instead forced them into something that did not fit them. I hope that new coach will understand this.
