Sources claim Ottawa Senators GM John Muckler tried to trade goalie Martin Gerber and the $7.4 million remaining on his contract along with defenceman Christoph Schubert to the Boston Bruins for Tim Thomas and Paul Mara but the Bruins rejected the offer. Garrioch believes Muckler will try to shop Gerber in the off-season.
